Barstow library to expand services for job-seekers

According to the Desert Dispatch, the Barstow Branch Library is going to be expanding their computer lab, and will allow job seekers to have as much time as they need in order to fill out resumes and look for jobs, etc.
This is all thanks to a $30,000 Community Development Block Grant. The grant will allow the library to get high-speed internet, expand their lab, and get 10 new computers.
Of course, this isn’t just good news for the unemployed; this is good for every person in Barstow who relies on the library’s computers and internet access. Currently, the library has a T1 line and 18 computers. These 18 computers are in constant use, and a T1 line is okay if there isn’t a lot of people downloading large files. But the new high-speed internet will definitely speed up the process.
So, faster internet means means people will have less time on a computer, and more computers just means that many more people will be helped.
