Marty
Marty Lewis is the scientist of the group. Being an entomologist
(insect scientist), he is often found summoning insects in the few
watering holes in and around the El Pasos! For that, Marty is like the
Venus Fly Trap. True, it’s not native to the California Desert, but it
describes him quite well – he is silent, patient, and loves to catch
insects.

Marty works for the Entomology Lab at Cal State Long Beach.
"When I’m out here, I recognize the true meaning of “Silence is
Golden … it’s pretty wild, but I like it," said Marty.
Marty's interests in the desert are to find rare species to add to
his extensive bug collection.
